Now in stock at Rocket Radio Letchworth, the MD-380. I have one and use it myself so can advise and help you with the exciting development of DMR which appears to be overtaking other ham digital forms of cummunications such as Icom's D-Star and Yaesu's Fusion. DMR is a a professional system based on the Motorola Mototrbo infrastructure.
I can also program the radio up for you with a code plug with the current DMR repeaters (there are more DMR repeaters coming online all the time) and also customise the welcome screen with your name and call sign as per the picture of my MD-380.
As well as the DMR repeaters the MD-380 can also access your local analogue 70cm repeaters and these are in the code plug.
You will need a DMR ID to program into the radio to access the DMR services and this can be obtained by copleting your details here - http://register.ham-digital.net/ and attaching a copy of your amateur radio licence, I have done this recently and my appplication was processed within a few hours so it is very quick.
You can check if your location has DMR repeater coverage here - https://www.ukrepeater.net/dmr.htm and like I say there are more repeaters being added to the network all the time, virtually all on the 70cms UHF band with only one DMR repeater on 2m VHF that I know of.
